1941 Eastern Front Campaign - Battle 10 - A Reluctant Advance

The Romanians finally got some reinforcements and, after some prodding by the Germans, advanced over the river to retrace their steps of unhappy memory.  Advancing less cautiously towards the river was Soviet Platoon 4.  A tiny platoon, it had been told to advance to the river and prevent the Romanians from crossing.

The Romanian platoon is a shadow of its former self, but still quite strong in campaign terms.  The Tatra armoured car leads the advance.

Soviet Platoon 4 was very weak and in no state for the fight coming.

Confident in their numbers, the Romanians pressed the attack.

The Soviets put up a determined resistance.

The Romanian 47mm anti-tank gun had no targets.

The Soviets start to retreat.

The Soviets are melting away under the relentless pressure.

In the end a few Soviets retreated north, confident the Romanians knew they had been in a fight.  The Romanians gained confidence and turned towards Gordinische once more.
